FTC Compliance Notice

In accordance with FTC guidelines (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose all material connections between Electrolyte Expert and the products, services, and advertisers featured on our website. This policy applies to all content, including reviews, comparisons, guides, and calculators.

2. Amazon Associates Affiliate Program

Electrolyte Expert is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

When you click on an Amazon affiliate link on our website and make a purchase, we receive a small commission (typically 1-4% of the sale price) at no additional cost to you. The commission is paid by Amazon, not by you — the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to Amazon.

All Amazon affiliate links on our website are clearly disclosed at the point of clicking. Product review pages include a clear “Affiliate Disclosure” notice. Comparison pages indicate which links are affiliate links. We never use cloaking, redirecting, or deceptive linking practices.

We maintain strict editorial independence by adhering to the following principles:

  • Testing First: We purchase and test all products independently before writing reviews. Affiliate relationships do not affect which products we test.
  • Ranking Integrity: Product rankings are based on objective criteria (taste, nutrition, value, convenience). An affiliate product is never ranked higher because of its affiliate status.
  • Negative Reviews: We publish honest reviews, including criticism, even for products with affiliate relationships. We do not censor negative findings.
  • No Sponsored Content: We do not accept payment for favorable reviews or rankings. All reviews are based on our own testing.
  • Disclosure at Point of Action: Affiliate relationships are disclosed at or near the point where a user can take action (clicking a link, making a purchase).

  • Product Selection: We choose which products to review based on market relevance and reader interest, not affiliate commission rates. Products without affiliate programs are reviewed alongside those with affiliate programs.
  • Content Depth: Advertising revenue allows us to purchase products for testing, hire writers, and maintain the website. This revenue enables us to produce higher-quality, more comprehensive content than we could without it.
  • Calculator Tools: Our interactive electrolyte calculators are completely free and contain no advertising. They are provided as a public service and a way to demonstrate topical expertise.

Advertising does NOT affect: product rankings, review scores, editorial opinions, or the inclusion/exclusion of products in our comparisons.
